Teaser trailer for sci-fi script.
My next project is a feature film that continues to explore themes of loss and regret, but in the re-imagining of a traditional Mexican folk-tale.
Set in the 21st century, La Perdida is a broad re-telling of the old La Llorona folk tale combined with the ancient Greek Cassandra myth. It’s a time-travel film that explores the universal themes of loss and redemption while painting it with my own interpretations of the old stories that populated my childhood. It’s a lo-fi sci-fi drama in the same spirit of Michael Winterbottom’s Code 46 and Alfonso Cuaron’s Children of Men. Setting it in the near future allows me to rework traditional Mexican motifs and create a unique world.
